I think
I think nobody cares if you’re sad. I think they know, maybe only unconsciously, that there’s nothing they can do to help, and that everyone can only save themselves.
I think everyone, once they reach a certain age, is permanently sad. And as they grow older, life becomes more and more various episodes of pointless goal chasing in an attempt to forget that you’re sad. And sometimes in the process of achieving these goals, you succeed… in forgetting to be sad… about the pointlessness of it all.
